Cordoba and Sevilla - March 18/19

Friday morning, we were running a little late and were afraid we would miss the 8:30 bus with our program. Luckily, they never leave on time so we made it at 8:48 on the bus. I slept for most of the ride to Cordoba and then we went to go see the Mezquita - which I saw senior year of high school. It was still beautiful and I enjoyed it even more this time because I had learned about the architecture a few weeks ago! Perfect timing with my midterms coming up (side note, it wasn't on my midterm)

 Beautiful weather, beautiful views!

Un alminar de la mezquita (a tower of the mosque)

The inside of the Mezquita!

The wall that the Muslums face when they pray.

We hopped back on the bus for a 2 hour ride to Sevilla. Our hotel wasn't too bad - I shared a room with two other girls that I didn't know but they were super nice. Dinner was buffet style and it left me craving mac and cheese...It didn't sit well at all with me and not with my roommates as well. After dinner, I was showered and in bed by 10. Great night to catch up on sleep!

Saturday

I woke up around 9 and went down for the continental breakfast, which was 100x better than dinner. We left on a bus tour of Sevilla...that lasted 15 minutes, before we got to the Plaza de EspaƱa. Interestingly enough, they filmed a scene from Star Wars there!

After that, we toured the Alcalzar (which I have also seen before) before going to the Cathedral (which I have seen too!)

Kinda looks like the Alhambra.....

La Giralda, the only thing left of the mosque that was where the Cathedral is now

The tomb of Christopher Columbus!

After the tours, we walked around some more and soaked up the sunshine before heading back to Granada. It was a refreshing two day trip with no stress on my part having to plan things!

I think I'm all caught up with big events that have happened so far. We leave for Dublin on Friday!!!
