We had to meet at the post office at 8:30 am yesterday to take a bus to a school outside of the city so we could talk with Spaniards. It ended up being at this high school but we talked 45 min in english, 45 in spanish - kind of a speed dating language practice thing. The people we talked to were really nice - I got one person's email address and another's phone number. (Still no Enriques Mom) They said my Spanish was pretty good compared to some of the other people they talked to from the program (YAY!)
After all that talking, my throat was raw but luckily it was time to leave. We went to the main Universidad de Granada campus and had a late breakfast at this cafeteria place. And then we went on a tour of the city to see the 2 gyms we could get memberships at. Sorry but I'm not paying 25 or 50 euro/month to join a gym. We also saw Parque del Fernando Garcia Lorca - which is literally right around the corner from our apartment
Lunch was soup, tortilla española, onions?, and this meat pasta thing. Because the 2 other girls from UDelaware were leaving that night, Feli pulled out some lambrusco wine for their last meal. Then, I took the longest siesta of my life - around 3 hours or more. We all decided to stay in because we weren't feeling well, but after we woke up, we went downstairs and around the corner so Rebecca and I could get phones. Now I own this little dinky pay as you go phone and it won't let me upload a picture but it's a Nokia 1616. Y'all can google it.
We were back in time for a dinner of cauliflower and potatoes, which I couldn't even finish because I didn't feel well. But then, Señora pulled out some Argentine cake which I had to try - come on, it was chocolate. And it was delicious!
I went to sleep around 1. And woke up at 10 today because we don't have to be anywhere until 4pm for our tour of the Albaycin. So now we're trying to plan a trip to Belgium next weekend...which we can't do until we get our class schedules tomorrow morning.
Hasta luego, when I tell you about our Albaycin tour!
