Fri/Sat/Sun 4-6 Feb 2011

We didn't go out Thursday night so we ended up getting at least 12 hours of sleep. Friday we got our schedules. I already wrote about the meals.

We went out to one of the discotecas - Granada 10, after going to Poë - which was just on the news for being the best tapas bar in Granada, and the chupitería. Granda 10 was definitely interesting but it was nice to get out and dance. We ended up coming home at 4am and slept all day.

Saturday, we woke up late and had a late breakfast. After breakfast, we set out to explore Granada and find that tapas bar again. We got lost trying to find it but then decided to have Mexican food for lunch (it's better at Don Pablos, Dad). I forget what our dinner was, no wait! It was delicious - toasted ham and cheese sandwiches, vegetable pizza and hmm, soup probably. Dinner was so good - I majorly pigged out.  Thennnn after a short siesta, we got ready at around midnight to go out. It was back to the chupitería and Granada10 - even though we wanted to go to el Camborio (the club in a cave that overlooks the Alhambra) but some party pooper that tagged along with us was whiny so we went back to Granada10. I had more fun that night but there were a lot of creepers there. We did meet up with a few people from our program and met some guy from Alabama - Grant from Alabama. My roommates and I took a taxi home at 730am. I never want to stay out that late "like the locals" again!

Sunday involved more sleeping in. I forget what the meals were - oh cauliflower and potatoes for dinner I think. I forget what lunch was - probably soup and something with french fries. We went to an Irish bar to watch the Superbowl but left during halftime because it was closing before the game ended. So we found a different Irish/English bar that was open until the game ended. Apparently it's illegal to be open past a certain hour on Sunday nights so the bar was risking their license and a hefty fine to keep all the Americans happy. I was THRILLED that Green Bay won because I obviously hate the Steelers. And I bonded with some random guy from Ohio about our hatred for the Steelers (an obvious Colts fan who hated the Ravens too, but the Steelers more).

We got back around 5 and passed out for a quick nap before our first day of class, which will be in a different post!
